Some good recommendations, with informative descriptions. There are numerous books available but this one does the best explaining the features, good or bad. I was already using many of the apps in this book, but found a few I will use.
There are tons of app eBooks here on , so what qualities does it take for an eBook to be better than the rest? I think I needs to be real content, valuable content, well-written, and you have to know that the author put a lot of time into creating the eBook. This is exactly what you get with Fire Apps Revealed.
To be a little different from the typical "Top 50", the author included 51 Fire Apps. These apps are tailored to the Fire HD rather than the first generation device however. The author clearly took the time to study each app and study the customer reviews. Each app has a short description, a breakdown of the main features, and an overview of customer comments. The author even included any issues that showed up in multiple customer reviews.
Since this is a "Best Apps" eBook, only the best reviewed and most useful apps are included. It includes a top five section for each of eight major categories, including Kids apps and games, Finance, Health and Fitness, and Social Networking apps. At the end, there are 11 additional apps from a variety of categories that barely missed the top spot but were worth mentioning. Some of the highest rated apps in the Appstore are included, like "Calorie Counter and Diet Tracker", "Calculator Plus Free", "Subway Surfers" (with over 11,000 reviews now and nearly 9,000 of those are 5-star)and "reddit is fun" (the reddit reader app).
There are a lot of free apps in the book, but some of them do cost money. It looks like the author included the ones that cost based on the amazing reviews they received from customers. He, also, included subscription information, which lets you know right then and there if you have to purchase anything further to use the app.
One thing that I know I have always been confused about, and other books do not really discuss, is app permissions. This eBook has a small section that list some of the most common permissions and gives a short definition in terms anyone can understand. This is very important to me because I want to make sure I know what I am getting into when I accept the terms of the apps. The developers get access to certain things through those permissions, so this is something that everyone needs to know.
In conclusion, I think the author put a lot of effort into providing a variety of top-notch apps from many important categories. The writing is excellent and detailed. You get the pros and cons along with the price and rating. The author even list the Developer's name and the creation date. I think the information is accurate, descriptive, and compiled with the consumer's needs in mind. After reading this book you will have problem deciding if you should try the app mentioned or pass it up.
